Let’s compare the new iPhone 15 Pro Max with the previous model — iPhone 14 Pro Max. The new iPhone will be remembered for its transition to USB-C and the new periscope camera.
I’ll put the emphasis on filming and cameras;
Video.
All cameras, except the telephoto camera, have 4K videos that are pretty equivalent. 14 Pro Max has a 3x zoom and 15 Pro Max has a 5x zoom. iPhone 15 Pro Max beats 14 Pro Max with a lighter body and longer 5x camera zoom + USB-C port. In addition, the USB 3.2 data transfer speed will be very good for transferring larger files — 20x faster than lightning.
One difference is that 15 Pro Max camera has next-generation portrait with focus and depth controls that the 14 Pro Max doesn’t.
Log.
iPhone 15 Pro Max phones have the ability to shoot in Log mode.This is great if you want to capture footage and colour it afterwards. iPhone 15 Pro Max is the first model in Apple’s flagship series to support this format.
Log videos look grey and flat. This will require knowledge and skill in post-processing or “colouring” the video, ultimately making it very close to footage shot by a professional camera.
SSD drive.
The Type-C port allows you to plug an external SSD directly into the 15 Pro Max and write video directly to it. Very handy when you want to shoot a lot of footage and later process it on your computer. Simply remove the SSD from your phone, connect it to your computer, then edit the video.
_
You’ll get at least 20% faster video processing with the new 15 Pro Max (A17 Pro processor).
